Do YOUth Know about Dental Dams and how to use them?
We here at the Strategy are believers in giving a dam about your beaver!
What the heck is a dental dam anyway?
A dental dam is a small piece of latex that acts as a barrier between the vagina or anus and the mouth. It’s called a dental dam or oral dam because it used by dentists during dental surgeries. Due to the possible infectious secretions from the vagina and anus, the dental dam is becoming a more popular safe sex tool.
How do you use a dental dam?
Well now that all depends on the act! If you are going to perform oral vaginal sex aka “cunnilingus” aka “eating out” then you would lay the dam against the entire vulva, the vaginal opening and the clitoris. If you’re going to perform oral-anal sex aka “rimming” aka “tossing the salad” then the dam would be laid against the anus. Remember, you can use a water based lubricant between the dam and your vagina/anus. It will make it more sensitive plus hold it better in its place. Oh yes on that note, someone does have to hold it in place! This requires a discussion between the receiver and the performer. The receiver may want to help out and hold it in place while the performer is “hands free” to stimulate elsewhere. Or the performer could be a good sport and hold it place while the receiver relaxes and takes it all in…ahhhhh.
Can I use a dental dam more than once?
Hell no! Please always use a new dam for each act of oral sex! Do not flip the dam over and use the other side, it so defeats the purpose. Using a dam from vagina to anus or anus to vagina is not recommended as you can transfer germs from one part or your body to another part. Not cool. Dental dams are just to be used once! Use it then throw it away! Like Kleenex.
No Dam? Just make one it’s easy
Get a non-lubricated condom and a pair of scissors. Carefully take out the condom from its package and unroll it. Cut the tip and base of the condom and cut down the length of the tube. Unroll the condom into a rectangular sheet and TADAA…you have now made a highly effective dental dam. Some people are allergic to latex however you can use a female condom to make a dental dam as it is made from polyurethane.
Enjoy all!
Do YOUth Know how to use a Condom correctly?
Hey all! Putting on a condom seems pretty easy right? Well, it’s not always as easy as it looks, especially if you use your mouth! Lol, just kidding, I will save that lesson for another day! On a serious note, in order for a condom to be effective at preventing HIV, sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy it has to be used correctly each and every time a person has sex. So let’s make your experience a safe one and follow these rules!!!
Step 1: Grab a condom and check the expiration date. The date should be on the package with the month and year clearly visible.
Step 2: Check to see if there is air in the package. If the package has an air bubble then all is well! If the package is deflated chances are then that the condom will be dry and non-useable.
Step 3: To open the condom package, take a corner and tear down using your fingers!!! Never open a condom package with your teeth as you may tear a hole in the condom.
Step 4: Take the condom out. You will see that it is rolled up. At this point you need to figure out the inside of the condom from the outside. The way that you can tell the difference is the condom will look like a hat with the thick rolled up part on the outside. It’s like this so that you can easily roll it on to an erect penis.
Step 5: Now that you know which is the correct way to put on the condom. You will now you need to make space at the top. This “space” will allow for semen to collect and prevent the condom from breaking. Pinch the tip of the condom to squeeze the air out. This is very important because if the air is not squeezed out the condom could break. Place the condom on the head of the penis and roll it all the way down to the base of the penis.
Step 6: After ejaculation, hold the condom at the base of the penis and carefully remove the condom from the penis. Tie a knot at the end so that none of the semen seeps out.
Step 7: Roll it up in tissue and throw away in the garbage
When used correctly and consistently, condom use is effect at preventing sexually transmitted infections, HIV and pregnancy.
