CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS:
THE FAMILIES, HIV AND HOUSING STUDY

We are looking for interview participants for a research study on the housing experiences and needs of families affected by HIV/AIDS

ARE YOU:
HIV Positive?
AND
Have children under the age of 18 in your care,
OR
Have children who are not living with you due to your current housing situation?

If yes, you could be eligible to participate in an interview that asks questions about your experiences of being an HIV positive parent and how your experiences are connected to your housing situation, living arrangements, neighborhood and access to housing and related services.

The information we gain through the research will help us to:

1. Better understand the experiences, successes and challenges of families in relation to accessing housing, supports that help families stay housed, and how housing circumstances affect children, parenting, and planning for the future while coping with HIV/AIDS;

2. Identify current service provider practices used to connect families affected by HIV/AIDS to health and social services as well as housing, and define ways to improve these practices;

3. Develop a model of services and/or support for families affected by HIV, to improve access to housing and help staying housed.

There is no obligation that clients who access services from the agencies that support us in our recruitment process participate in the research. All information will be kept confidential and participation in this study will not affect your access to services.

Interviews are approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours long.

Participants will be provided $50 to reimburse their childcare and transportation expenses to enable participation in the interview.
